About Jaxson

Meet Jaxson, a young black lab who craves human affection and the comfort of a loving home. Smart and handsome, this lovely family dog takes the prize for sweetness. Since Jan 2025, Jaxson has lived in a foster home. He currently lives in harmony with adults, children, and three other dogs of different sizes, genders, and breeds. He has just one problem with his current arrangement. He lives with four cats which for Jaxson is like mixing oil and water. No yin for yang there. For everyone's sake, he's looking for a permanent, feline-free home. Jaxson is very quick to learn and thrives on direction and routine. He's asked to sit for every action such as getting a treat, getting meals, before exiting the crate, and before being leashed. He sleeps all night in a crate. He plays with his foster sibs and absolutely loves to play fetch! Apart from that you can find him Velcroed to someone's side. Jaxson is a great candidate for group dog training classes. He would enjoy the challenge and bonding time with his adopter. He needs more confidence while walking on a leash because he tends to bark at strangers or cars. A positive-reinforcement trainer can definitely help! History: His original owner said Jaxson lived with children and roamed free in the yard with chickens. When they couldn't keep Jaxson, they unknowingly placed him in an abusive situation. Jaxson was recently saved from harm by an experienced couple active in rescue and fostering. In just a few days, Jaxson revealed how special he is. What's more, this remarkable dog was given a euthanasia sentence sight unseen when his foster family asked a rescue league for support.
