About Kapono

Kapono is a 10-year-old German Shepherd with the heart of a puppy and the soul of a true gentleman. Sweet, affectionate, and surprisingly playful for his age, he's never met a tennis ball he didn't love-one is fun, but five is even better. In the home, Kapono is an absolute dream. In five weeks of foster care, he's had zero potty accidents and settles easily into a calm, predictable routine. He thrives with consistency, clear boundaries, and a confident human who provides gentle structure. A couple of endearing quirks: Kapono is an enthusiastic (okay�'�| slightly sloppy) water drinker, and he occasionally commits a harmless 'crime,' like proudly parading around with a stolen slipper as his prize. It's hard not to smile. On walks, Kapono can get excited when he sees other dogs. He's not aggressive or vocal-he just needs a little help polishing his canine manners. The good news? He's already showing wonderful progress with patient guidance and responds beautifully to corrections. While he may not be looking for a wrestling buddy, Kapono can peacefully co-exist with other dogs and is currently being socialized successfully. At home, he's content to relax, chew on a toy, and mind his own business. Kapono is crate trained, gentle, calm, and truly one of the kindest, easiest houseguests you could hope for. He's now urgently looking for a committed long-term foster-or even better, a forever home. All Kapono wants is a soft place to land and someone to love him for the years ahead. After a rough start, this beautiful old soul deserves nothing less than a safe, steady home and a family to call his own.
