About Starlight

Starlight is a 2�%BD-year-old spayed Labrador/American Staffordshire Terrier mix, about 45 pounds, with a smart, loving heart and a strong desire to please. She wants nothing more than to be with her people and be part of everyday family life. She appears to have experienced heavy-handed training in the past and can cower at verbal disapproval. Starlight thrives with gentle guidance, patience, and lots of positive praise. Once she trusts you, her devotion is unmatched. Starlight does well with children and plays nicely with her foster's teenage grandchildren. She is good with cats and most dogs her size or smaller. She can play a little rough with larger dogs, so a meet and greet is required for any resident pets. She walks well on leash, enjoys daily walks, and absolutely loves car rides. She knows sit, stay, down, off, and come. She's potty trained, uses a dog door, and will sit by the door if it's closed. She's smart and resourceful, so she'll need continued gentle reminders about house rules (kitchen counters included ����). Starlight has mild hip dysplasia and enjoys swimming, which helps keep her comfortable and active. Because of past trauma, she cannot be crated or confined to small spaces, as it causes panic. She does wonderfully loose in her foster home with access to a dog door. Starlight is a sensitive, loyal girl ready for a patient, loving forever family. *Fenced yard required*
