Meet Sharkey - A Wild Start, A Tender Heart Sharkey began his life at a feral colony in Wake Forest, but it didn't take long to see that this little guy was destined for a different kind of life. With patience and gentle love, he's transformed into a blossoming, affectionate companion - and he's just getting started. He Does Things On His Own Terms (And That's Part of His Magic) Sharkey is still finding his confidence, and that's what makes his progress so remarkable. He doesn't hide - he's right in the middle of the action, playing with the other cats and soaking up home life. But when it comes to affection, he likes to be the one to initiate. He won't come to you if you walk toward him, but give him a moment and he'll make his way over all on his own. His foster mom is proof: he follows her from room to room, curls up beside her, and soaks in every pet - entirely on his terms. A Morning Routine He Takes Very Seriously Sharkey has figured out the finer things in life. The moment his foster mom settles in with her morning coffee and a book, he's already sprinted ahead to claim his spot on the sofa. Lap time isn't optional - it's scheduled. Life With Sharkey Loves wrestling with his foster siblings Laser pointer? Absolutely obsessed Zoomies of Olympic caliber Competitive eater (his little belly is proof - a gentle eye on portions is recommended!) Not a fan of being picked up - he prefers all four paws on the ground His Perfect Home Sharkey needs a patient, understanding adopter who will let love grow at his pace. He doesn't need someone to chase him down - he needs someone who will sit still long enough for him to choose them. And he will choose you. Every single day. In return, you'll get a loyal little shadow, a sofa companion for slow mornings, and the deeply rewarding joy of watching a once-feral kitten learn what it means to feel safe and loved.
