About Oliver

Hello Adopters! Oliver is a 2 year old Border Collie x Black Mouth Cur. He is such a sweet dog who loves to hike, swim, walk, sniff around outside, and be involved in anything outdoors! Once Oliver has his energy out he loves to snuggle up with his humans and chill out. We are heartbroken to have to find him a new home as he is such a loving dog but we feel this is the best route for him. We are re-homing Oliver because we do not think he is a right fit for a household with children. We have a young child in our household that he is not very tolerant of as of lately. Oliver has not done anything to harm our child but we are getting the signs that he would be better in an environment without small children. Ideally Oliver would go to a home without small children, cats, or other dogs. Oliver could potentially do well in a home with other friendly dogs but it would be on a case by case basis. Oliver has a high prey drive for small animals with his black mouth cur genetics. Oliver had right TPLO surgery October of 2025 and is healing very well from this procedure. He is still working his strength back on his right hind leg and is allowed to go on 15 minute walks currently. Oliver is taking trazodone (to help with his energy during the healing period), apoquel (he has environmental allergies), and carprovet as needed for pain on days when exercise makes him sore. He is completely crate trained and knows basic commands like come, sit, down, and drop it. We are looking to find Olivers forever home.
