PLEASE HELP!!! LAKEWOOD, OHIO . (willing to drive up to 3 HRS ). 5 Y/O FEMALE AKC REGISTERED GSD (DOB: 10/13/20). Her name is ' PENNY'. Background: has been with the same Shepherd Parent since weaned, from a breeder. UTD on shots WITH record. Fixed. Good with kids, READ BELOW. Good with LARGE dogs AGGRESSIVE TO SMALL. USE CAUTION with cats, as you can see in the pics, she lives with cats and does well most of the time, but there have been incidents where she did get in scuffles with them. FOOD AGGRESSION. House trained. Crate trained, but does not need, she has not used a crate in years, good behavior when left out and alone. Any known medical issues?: She has itchy skin and they cannot find the cause, but she is on Apoquel, one every night. She had a benign cyst recently removed from above her tail, but no issues. Abuse/Neglect/Trauma History?: NO. ENERGY LEVEL:MEDIUM. PREY DRIVE LEVEL:HIGH. Weighs 95 lbs. Currently on 'FreshPet+BENEFUL' mix food. Good with car rides?: YES. Socialized with: *people?: YES. *dogs?: NOT OFTEN. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): Yes, timid / shy at first. Throw her ball and she is your best friend . Loves: fetch - catch - cuddling - watching TV - toys - balls - her treat ball - playing with kids- being near her person - Kong toys - ropes - tug. *Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: YES. Has also completed 10 weeks of Obedience Training . *Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): YES. *Good on a Leash?: YES. *Lovable?:YES . *Eager and fast learner?: YES. Bite History?: YES. Bit the Current Shepherd Parent's 3-year-old son (minor bite) for picking up her food bowl while she was eating. They acknowledge that this was NOT Penny's fault, but because of this incident, they feel it is best to get her into a home where she can relax and thrive with someone who is experienced with Food Aggression. NOTES FROM CURRENT SHEPHERD PARENT: 'She's also good about not eating off of plates, counters, etc. We don't give her people food. She's a sweetheart of a dog that made a mistake. She's a loving companion in every sense of those words'. Re Homing because�'�|: Because of the incident with the minor bite of the 3-year-old, they feel it is best to get Penny into the right home. Penny will be a great companion for the right person. Because of her Food Aggression, we feel it best that she go into a home with OLDER kids only. And always use caution around any kids of any age and dogs with her Food Aggression. Will thrive best�'�|?: in a loving home with NO small kids due to her Food Aggression and NO small animals. If you do have dogs, please use caution if kids are involved because Penny is very protective over kids with other dogs. Needs someone who will be able to work with her through her Food Aggression and preferably someone who will respect Penny's lifestyle at age 5, and NOT crate her since she is used to Free Roaming the home when left alone.
