Lucy is a sweet, young Jack Russell female puppy. She was brought home at the tender age of 8 weeks old to a home with another young Jack Russell male named Henri. The transition hasn't been easy for Henri despite working with both of them to try to make living together easier for them. Sometime in January, Henri attached lucy and I needed to pay for surgery to fix a tear in her right ear. I was able to get that surgery for her, however, Lucy finds herself in another predicament. She has a fractured tibia that required another surgery. I was able to come up with the funds to pay for the surgery ($6,000) however, after the vet explained what recovery entails, I am not in a position to carry the financial burden to continue to do the right thing for Lucy. She will need to have subsequent x=rays performed on this leg as well as the removal of the surgically implanted pin and/or wire that was put in place to promote healing of the bone. I'm a single mom with three kids (2 of which are college bound this year) Never in my wildest dreams did I think Lucy would have the unfortunate things happen at such a young age that have already happened to her. She loves to cuddle and play but this healing period will force her to be immobile for at least 4-6 weeks. She is mostly puppy pad trained and will got to whatever designated spot where the pad is as long as the area is kept clean after being soiled. She will also go outside, which is usually after meals. She sleeps in a crate all night from 9 pm to 630am - 7ish. I do not want to give up my girl, but want to find someone who can continue to do the right thing for her.
