URGENT - Stray Dog Needs Rescue or Experienced Home We have a female Catahoula mix that showed up on our property and recently gave birth to 8 puppies. We have safely removed the puppies and are currently caring for them while searching for homes, but momma dog still needs urgent help. She has allowed hand-feeding and seems to want connection, but she is extremely fearful and can show aggression toward people and other animals, likely due to fear and pain. Two days ago we noticed her right leg is swollen, and we are unable to get close enough to evaluate or transport her for medical care. She has now moved closer to our home and garage, and because we have small children and dogs, this has become a serious safety concern. We are doing everything we can to avoid euthanasia and truly believe she just needs medical attention, patience, and an experienced rescue or handler who can help her feel safe.
