BDRA is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) charity that accepts no fees when helping individuals or other rescues. 100% of donations go directly to the care of the animals. If you'd like to help us continue our mission, please donate at: https://www.blinddogrescue.org/donate-1. Name: Rottie Age: Unknown, per vet estimated to be 7 years old Breed: Rottweiler/Hound mix, 50-60 pounds Sex: Male (not neutered) Location: Sulphur Springs, TX Rottie was found curled up on the side of a highway and thankfully his current family saved him. He is looking for a forever home and is such a sweet loving boy, called 'happy guy'! Vet Info: Rottie is not neutered but has been to the vet for a wellness exam and has received vaccinations. He tested positive for heartworm and is on heartworm prevention now. He also tested positive for hookworm and is being treated. The vet confirmed Rottie can see shadows and vague shapes but is mostly blind. Dog Info: Rottie is such a sweet loving boy. He is very gentle, he is currently around cats and other dogs and has had no issues. Rottie does well with people too. Due to having problems with one of the family's alpha male dogs ( at no fault of Rottie's) he is confined to one area of the house. He is housebroken but not leash trained. Rottie has zero aggression and is very kind. He adapted very well to the family's routine but because of their other dogs he can not stay sadly. **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them. These dogs are with their owners and are not in BDRA foster homes.
