About Finley

Meet Finley ��%90� Finley is a 1-year-old Standard Poodle with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He's everything you'd expect from the breed-affectionate, active, loyal, and incredibly smart. Finley's favorite place is right next to his person, and he absolutely loves a good play session with his fur sisters and brothers. Finley has a little extra something that makes him truly special. He is a double merle, meaning he inherited the merle gene from both parents. This genetic combination can sometimes come with challenges, and in Finley's case, he was born blind due to microphthalmia (his eyes were significantly smaller than normal). He has since had a double enucleation and is thriving-no more eye infections, just a happy pup living his best life. Finley is also partially deaf, which just adds to his unique charm-especially when you call his name and he gives the absolute cutest little head turn as he tries to figure out where you are. Despite being completely blind, Finley adapts incredibly well. He knows how to use the dog door, finds his water bowl with ease, confidently navigates his way to any bed or couch for snuggles, and is fully leash trained. Once Finley learns his environment, it's game on! Because of this, he does best in a home where things stay fairly consistent. Finley is looking for a home with: A fully fenced yard (no in ground pools, unless a pool fence is installed) Someone who is home more often than not A calm, predictable environment where he can learn and thrive He would do great in a home with or without kids, loves other dogs, and would especially enjoy having another dog to help show him the ropes. Finley is also cat-friendly and doesn't mind a feline companion. Please note: As a Standard Poodle, Finley requires consistent professional grooming every 4-6 weeks to keep his coat healthy, comfortable, and mat-free. Finley may be blind and partially deaf, but he experiences the world with his whole heart-and he has so much love to give. Our requirements are non-negotiable and include the following: All current pets in the home must be spayed or neutered if over 6 months of age, unless there is a documented medical exemption with veterinary confirmation. All current dogs must be up to date on Rabies and Distemper/Parvo (DHPP) vaccinations. All current dogs must be on consistent, consecutive heartworm prevention.
