Mysti is 6 years old. Does will with other big dogs but not small dogs. She can be reactive but I feel that is due to her high energy and lack of stimulus. (needs a job but doesn't have one) Isn't the cuddly 'pet me' type as she can snap but will lay near you. I think she would do well on a farm or a place with space she can run and has a task. Would not be good with children. Doesn't do well with handling as she can be fearful. looking for a place that can give her an opportunity at life. Currently my wife doesn't feel comfortable around her and we have kept her separated from our other 2 small (9&20lb) dogs to ensure they don't fight. However, I have taken her to dog parks before and she does find with larger dogs. My wife is asking me to put her down but I feel she just needs the right environment. She always has a red ball in her mouth and LOVES LOVES LOVES to play catch and gets very excited. I truly believe she just needs a task and daily enrichment/stimuli/exercise that I cannot provide her in my living situation. If there is a farm or organization that takes these types of dogs I would love to know. It tears me up to have to give her up as she is my best friend but my wife has a fear of dogs and for some reason Mysti can sense when people hesitate or get scared around her as it triggers her to be scared and react by coming at you to get you away from her which can be scary to some. She hadn't bitten to draw blood but as a herding dog she will lunge and nip at you to get you away which is just part of their breed. I tolerate it because I don't fear her but my wife cant live around her anymore. I would love to her to go to a loving home that has plenty of outdoor space and preferably some other animals she can play with or herd around. She is smart but I cant train her because we keep the dogs separated by baby gates at all times and the little dogs bark at everything so I can t keep Mystis attention long enough to train her on anything because once the other dogs make a sound she runs to the gate in excitement. She just needs a chance to have a job and be exercised daily. She is very hardy, determined, and headstrong. Full bred cattle dog demeanor to a T.
