Buster is: * 60lbs * Friendly With All Size Dogs; Cats Are An Unknown * Potty Trained; Crate Trained * Friendly, Outgoing, Loves All People Buster is 60 pounds, almost completely black, with just a touch of silver on the backs of his legs and has big brown eyes. His vet says his eyes, ears, heart, and teeth are in great shape; his weight is good and he has good muscle tone. Buster is energetic, lively, and always ready for play. Playing ball is his favorite thing ito do n the world. From first thing in the morning until bedtime, he's happy to chase a ball, bring it right back, and drop it at your feet again and again. He even sleeps with his ball! Despite all that energy, Buster is also very affectionate. He adores people and believes there are only two kinds of people in the world: his friends, and those people he hasn't met yet. When visitors come over, he happily makes his way around the room so everyone gets their turn giving ear scratches and pets. Once he's said hello to everyone, he'll start the circuit all over again - unless you tell him 'All Done,' at which point he'll go lay down on his bed. Buster loves walks too. The moment he sees his leash, he runs to the door and sits, waiting not-too-patiently for his human to come along. He's very social with other dogs and has made friends with nearly every dog in the neighborhood. He does great during playdates and genuinely enjoys canine companionship. He's also wonderful with people of all ages and sizes and shows no hesitation or defensiveness, even around tall or unfamiliar men. Buster is potty trained and crate trained and has generally good household manners. He knows several commands, including 'Lay Down,' 'Wait' before meals, and 'All Done' when playtime or attention needs to pause. While his foster home usually has someone around, he does fine when left alone and now has full run of the house for a few hours at a time without any issues. Buster would be best in a home with a securely fenced yard, which he needs both for safety and to burn off his happy energy. He's so friendly and curious that he found every gap in the yard's fence just to go meet the neighbors - who always brought him back with stories about how sweet he was. Once the fence was secured, he settled right in, but it's clear that safe outdoor space is important for him. Regrettably, due to our situation, we can no longer keep Buster. We brought him to the vet to get him current on his vaccinations and learned that he has heartworm and a tick-caused infection, but we cannot afford to pay for his treatment.
