About DUTCH

Adoption Fee: $500
Pomeranian / Chihuahua
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

DUTCH is an 18-month-old, 9.6 pound Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix. He has a beautiful coat, and his eyes are absolutely gorgeous, almost the same warm tan color as his fur. He was surrendered after someone purchased him online and realized they couldn't keep him. DUTCH is a very sweet boy but can be timid when first meeting new people. It took him a little time to adjust to his foster mom and dad, but now he is happy, excited, and loves greeting them with jumping joy when they come home. Being picked up can be stressful for him at first, but once he learns to trust you, it's no longer an issue. Whoever adopts him will gain a wonderful little companion who loves to follow his person everywhere. When DUTCH first arrived, he was very timid around other dogs. Now he runs, plays, and has a great time with his foster siblings both indoors and outside. He would do best in a home with another dog, preferably a female close to his size, as he can feel intimidated by larger dogs. A home with kids will make him nervous and we do not know how he would be with cats. Because he can startle easily, DUTCH will do best in a home with a securely fenced yard. He has mastered using the dog door, which has helped tremendously with his potty training. He is not 100% potty trained yet and may mark in the beginning, so consistency and supervision will be important. At night, DUTCH loves to cuddle in the big bed and enjoys waking his foster mom up with sweet kisses. DUTCH is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review.
