Reef has been part of our family since he was a puppy, and he's grown into a sweet, smart, and affectionate dog. He He loves soaking up the sunshine, chasing balls (even if he doesn't always bring them back!), and being close to his people. Reef knows his basic commands-sit, stay, lay down-and has excellent recall. He is crate trained, sleeps in his crate most nights, and goes in willingly when asked. He has been raised around children and adults with no aggression toward people. Reef has also lived peacefully with another male dog and even a pet duck; who thinks he's one of the pack and enjoys lounging beside him! He's not a fan of cats and will chase them away, but that's been the extent of it. Recently, after adding a female dog to our home, Reef has shown some possessive behavior and has had two scuffles with our other dog. We believe he would truly thrive in a single-dog home or with just one other calm companion, as that's the environment he has known his whole life. Reef can get anxious around ATVs and side-by-sides and may nip at the tires, so we usually crate him during rides. Outside of that, he is a gentle, laid-back boy who just wants stability, love, and a place to relax in the sun. This decision has been incredibly hard for us, but with work, school, and being away during the day, we can't give Reef the environment he needs to feel secure. We know in the right home he will be an amazing, devoted family dog. If you're looking for a loyal companion and think Reef could be a good fit, please reach out. We'd love to tell you more about him.
