About LEONA

MEET Leona - female Chow mix, age - 3-5, 49lbs. This poor girl was found as a stray in horribly neglected condition, missing much of her fur, and brought to the shelter beginning of November. Leona has been estimated to be between 3-5 years old, weighs 49 lbs, and was previously spayed. She ended up in the City of Los Angeles Shelter in South LA. Medical staff were only able to do a limited examination due to her fear/anxiety/stress. other than being treated for the skin condition and URI. Once pulled from shelter by AnimalDefense Rescue.org aka ADR.org and after thorough Vet exam, and tests she was also diagnosed with Dry Eye problems also named Keratoconjunctivitis leading to inadequate tear production, causing redness, and pain if untreated. LEONA will need eye ointments administered continuously. LEONA is a very lovely, shy girl that likes keeping to herself, but socially tolerant, takes corrections without a problem, and has a gentle and dainty playstyle. She greets people she trust with a tail wag . LEONA is in boarding and was described as follows by a trainer �٪� Overall calm temperament, Sweet, gentle, and shy girl �'ۢ Dog-friendly with both large and small dogs �'ۢ Good with people; shy at first and benefits from slow introductions �'ۢ Does not engage much in play; prefers to keep to herself and sniff �'ۢ Comfortable with touch and handling �'ۢ Nervous around loud noises �'ۢ Does great on leash �'ۢ Handles small or enclosed spaces well (crate trained) �'ۢ Once comfortable, very affectionate �'ۢ Enjoys jumping into arms, cuddling, and receiving pets Meet & Greet at Boarding facility in Santa Paula can be arranged through ADR.org on appointment.
