I am looking for a loving, caring new forever home for my three year old Parson Russell Terrier, Albert. My husband passed away 3 years ago March 2023 and I have entered into a new relationship. We have combined our two house holds which includes my new partner's ten year old cat and four year old Great Dane, and Albert. Albert has a very strong prey drive making our household unsafe for the cat. We've encountered too many near misses. Albert requires a fenced in yard and a home with no other animals. He is a runner and does not return upon command. He is chipped, fully vaccinated and neutered. He is kennel trained but does not like to be placed in the kennel when other humans are home. He does pretty well with a few larger breed dogs (Great Dane, the neighbor Labrador). His play can get aggressive so if he should go to a home with other dogs they have to be very easy going and have a good nature to withstand Albert's brand of aggressive play and energy. It is best if Albert goes to a home with no other pets where the introduction to other dogs can be done in a controlled manner. He does not do well with other small breed dogs (he's way too rough). He would do well with older children but may be a bit too much. He has taken a basic obedience training and was awarded the most energetic in his class and knows a few basic commands (off, sit, down, stay, release, find it) but very reward (treat) driven. He loves to fetch but needs to be commanded to release. He loves going for walks and riding in a car. I have not taken this painful decision lightly. He has given me great joy and happiness during a very lonely time in my life. I hope to find a new forever home with humans that are kind, patient, loving and who can work with Albert and provide the kind of safe home environment he needs and deserves in order to thrive. He's a very smart little boy who with the right human is trainable.
