About SHAGGY

Meet SHAGGY- an approximative 3-5 yr old Shih Tzu who brings proudly 16lbs to the scale and a winning personality to your attention. SHAGGY (and SUSHI-also posted) were caught by Animal Control together with other smaller dogs that someone had abandoned. Both ended up in the Manteca Shelter, Northern CA and both live with the owner of AnimalDefense Rescue. org in WA since December 2025. SHAGGY gets easily attached to a person after you are 'approved'. He would like to be your buddy and center of your world. But he also gets along with other dogs unless they are reactive or try to bully. He stands his ground with his 16lbs and told me would prefer an adult household without young children - too much fuss for him. ADR.org has been working on potty training and he can be almost 'certified' but still learning and you need to pay attention to get him out on a walk (HE LOVES HIS WALKS) multiple time a day. it would be beneficiary if there would be another dog in the household - like a girlfriend. SHAGGY is acting as the 'big brother' of SUSHI but can be adopted separately, of course. he does like to make friends as he is social overall. Cats are not his 'thing' and if the cat lives in your household it would not be an ideal home. SHAGGY been neutered, is microchipped and up to date with Vaccinations). And all is documented.
