I found a young female Great Pyrenees on 2/6/26 near 19th Ave & Peoria in Phoenix, AZ. About three weeks prior, someone else reported seeing what appears to be the same dog in that area, so she may have been roaming for a while. It's hard to know for sure, as her coat is in very good condition and she appears well cared for. She seems to be under 3 years old, very calm, gentle, and affectionate with all people. She gets along well with my two male Golden Retrievers. She is not microchipped, and her vaccination and spay status are unknown. She does not seem to know basic commands, but she is very sweet-natured and eager to bond. At first she was hesitant to come indoors, but as she's become more comfortable with me, she has been slowly easing into spending time inside. I have also begun incorporating her into our morning routine, and while she enjoys going on walks, she does not require much exercise - which is typical for Great Pyrenees and may be ideal for someone seeking a more low-key companion. I have already walked the neighborhood and spoken with residents, but no one recognizes her. I am posting here in hopes of finding her owner or connecting with a responsible adopter or rescue. I plan to have her spayed (if she is not already) and brought up to date on needed vaccinations within the next week. The adoption fee is solely to recoup the cost of her spay and medical care.
