About Theodore

Adoption Fee: $200
Corgi
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Devastated to have to find a home for my beautiful loving guy. Theodore is 4 yrs old. Has had regular vet visits with shots, neuter, etc. He is healthy and such a good boy. He is purebred Pembroke welsh-tho I never cared enough to paper him. His parents were health tested and cleared for the major health issues. I adopted him from a responsible breeder at 10 weeks old. He has a tail because I asked the breeder to not doc his tail when he was born. So he rocks a tail. He has been raised with dogs and cats. However, he would do best in a cat free home and I prefer him to be an only (fur) child. He is food territorial so he needs to be separated from other animals before feedings (twice) daily. He is currently on science diet food to help maintain a healthy weight. Hes done great with it, so please be prepared to pay for a higher quality food for him. Theodore will do great in an environment with older respectful children or adults only. Not young children who will accidentally step on him, hang on him or create chaotic environment. Or take food from him. He has never had an issue, but he is food territorial with other animals so I wouldn't want him around littles with food, just because. Theodore barks to alert of intruder. If he hears an unusal noise, or if somethings amiss. He rings a bell to alert to go potty outside. He is a corgi who sheds. And sheds. He requires regular brushing-weekly and baths (including good blow dry) to keep him feeling good. You need to have a good vacuum. Also, regular nail trimming. Because I have been incapacitated, I have had difficulties maintaining shorter nails over the last 6 mos. It will take awhile to get them back to a proper length. Please be prepared to trim them regularly yourself or to pay someone to do it. Once a month. You need to plan that in your budget if you need to hire someone to do that. As well as the regular grooming if you dont do that yourself. He absolutely loves people. He is a happy tinkler when he meets new people or sees people he doesnt see on a regular daily basis. This is something hes done his whole life and his vet says is normal for some dogs to not grow out of. He cannot stop it and shouldn't get in trouble for it. So we greet new people outside on the grass or concrete. Or on easy to clean lvp or wood floors. Its not a lot, but its enough that I have to tell you about it. His new mom and/or dad must be able to afford to maintain his health with his needs. Whether its yearly vet visits for vaccines and checkups. He will need teeth cleaning in a couple years. He has an established vet in Caldwell and we can transfer vet records to your new vet if you dont want to choose to continue to use the same vet. Regular exercise. Mental enrichment. He loves people, going for rides, walks, corgi meet ups and dog parks, playing with toys, fetch and belly rubs. I never imagined being so sick and unable to care for my best friend. If my longo dongo --- my theodorable sounds like a good fit for your lifestyle AND you can give him what he needs and deserves, please message me. Thank you.
