Meet Dixie - A Loyal, Loving German Shepherd Ready for Her Forever Home Dixie is a stunning 2-year-old full-blood German Shepherd with both the beauty and the brains the breed is known for. She is everything people love about shepherds - loyal, attentive, and incredibly devoted to her people. Dixie is obedience trained and already knows several commands. She listens beautifully and truly wants to please. She is housebroken, crate trained, leash trained, and even boundary trained. She settles nicely in the home and understands structure. This girl thrives when she has clear leadership and time with her person. She is excellent with children and does wonderfully with other dogs. (No cats for Dixie, please.) She would love a home with a yard where she can stretch her legs and enjoy time outside, along with an owner who has the time to invest in her - shepherds bond deeply and she is no exception. Dixie is current on vaccines and will be spayed soon. She is in the early stages of heartworm treatment, and we are already addressing it so her future family won't have to start from scratch. With proper care and a little time, heartworm-positive dogs go on to live completely normal, happy lives - and Dixie deserves that chance. We are happy to discuss her treatment plan with any serious adopter. She is a very good girl who listens wonderfully, wants to be near her people, and is ready to be someone's loyal best friend.
