We are looking for the right home for our 6-year-old Border Collie / Retriever mix. This is a very difficult decision, but one made with her well-being as the priority. Since having children, she has become increasingly anxious in our home environment. She is a sweetheart and loves adults & teenagers, but kids make her very anxious. She is also very anxious with loud noises such as - thunderstorms, fireworks, etc. We are expecting another baby soon, we know this is not the right environment for her to be happy and comfortable. We don't make this decision lightly, we love her and my son loves her, but it feels like her anxiety here has escalated. She needs a home where she will have room to run and play fetch, and also get all the love and snuggles. She would do best in a calm, adult-only home (or older teens) with someone experienced with intelligent, high-energy, sensitive dogs. In the right setting, she has the potential to be a loyal and loving companion.
