About Alfie

Adoption Fee: $200
Lab / Poodle
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

I'm Alfie- a scruffy, silly boy at 25 pounds and 5 months-old and your future joy! What astounds people about me is how well-behaved I am, especially for my age. I love to run and play and would be a great fit for a family or an active adult, but when it's time for the crate or to chill, I can do that, too! I am cuddly and silly and always up for an adventure. I do very well in the car and just relax until we get to our destination. My general demeanor is not fearful and very go-with-the flow. I feel good about other dogs and people and appear confident. I am not a barker, even when other dogs at my foster home bark or I hear dogs outside barking. Like all puppies, I could be made into something that take away my peaceful demeanor, so I'd prefer to go with a home that has rules and expectations of their dogs. When it is time to eat, I sit like a good boy until you put my bowl or plate in front of me. When I am finished, I go back to sitting. I do this even when the other dogs at my foster home do their eating, never going after their bowls or plates of food. Golly am I a dream on a leash! I don't pull or lag behind but rather walk with a slack leash near you. When we walk past fences with dogs going berserk, I ignore it and continue on my prancing way with any ado. I do the same when passing other dogs on leashes. Other dogs are so much fun to play with and I have shown no signs of aggression or fear. Living with another active dog would be the greatest delight, because dogs can get my energy out better than humans, which is not to say I am high energy (I'm not) but that rolling over on my back and romping around a yard are things dogs do better than humans! The only thing I need help with is sharing my bones, but I can learn that if you please teach me how not to be a greedy jerk, as sharing is caring and makes life easier and more fun, from what I am told. I am crate-trained but not house-trained fully yet. I have not gotten the hang of limiting my water drinking, so I sometimes drink too much and then don't get outside in time, though I will go to the door and scratch or circle it to get your attention that I urgently need to get outside before I pee in the house. I have never pooped in the house or my crate so seem to have decided that I don't poop where I have my life. I take direction well and can learn anything you want to teach me, which I prefer since you teaching me is better than me finding ways to teach myself, some of which you may not approve of! I got neutered 2/5/26 and have my distemper/parvo shot and rabies shot, as well. Please reach out to my foster so we can meet and see if we are a great fit! What delights await us both for the next 15 or so years!
