About Turtle

Jindo
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Turtle was a lost dog who found me at work. He stayed with us for a few weeks before he went back to his previous home, and then showed up back at our door a few days later and they said we should keep him. We were not necessarily prepared for a dog to join our family but we love him and have been doing our best. However, we are realizing he needs more attention and consistency than our lives are structured to be able to give. About Turtle: he is a Jindo breed dog. He is a young adult, our guess is 3 or 4 years old. He loves to sniff and explore trails and natural areas, but is NOT trained to be an off-leash dog. As a dog who has spent time on the street, he can be anxious. He does not like to walk on busy streets and is frightened by fireworks etc but does okay with band practice at our house. He is very gentle in almost every situation, but there have been several times he has been stepped on while sleeping and has lashed out and nipped people, so he would do well in a home without kids. As long as he has a regular routine and knows what to expect, he is a very chill guy. He would do best with someone who has a consistent daily routine (especially if you work from home) and is able to walk him daily in a quiet area. Turtle has a very sweet, quiet, attentive energy, although he has a playful side as well. He loves to follow and curl up near you and offer quiet companionship around the house, and is also excited for hikes and outdoor adventures. He is an extremely loving companion! It feels very hard to say goodbye to him, especially since he had a bit of a rough life before he came to us, but we know he deserves more attention and consistency than we are set up for, and we have a kid and cannot have a dog who nips when startled. Thank you so much for any help you can give in finding him a new home!!
