Artic, a 3-year-old Siberian Husky, was sent to board with us because his owner became ill. Her medical situation declined and she has been unable to leave the hospital, and dementia has taken a hold of her. The family's situation is very complicated, especially around the ownership of Artic as none of them can take him in and his owner is incapable of relinquishing ownership for most shelters or reserves. I have one of the sons in contact with us asking if there is a no-kill shelter or foster system that Artic could go to because he cannot stay here at the resort indefinitely and the entire family is living out of state. My team is doing what we can to look and ask around for places or people who may be open to taking in Artic. He has been boarding at our resort for almost a month, so we can help to provide copies of his medical documents/information and even coordinate the transportation to get Artic to a good place. We got to know him pretty well and are open to letting people meet him until he is relocated, in hopes he can find a new family to love on him.
