I am devestated to write this, but we are being forced to rehome our 7 year old Plott Hound/Pomsky mix named Duke. While I would never consider him an aggressive dog, there is a neighboring dog who he has decided he hates. We have other animals in the home who he gets along with great and he has no problems with any other neighbors dogs, even when they roam onto our property. There is a complicated history as to why I believe he has developed an issue with this dog that I would be happy to expand upon if needed. That being said, the owners have already started speaking with lawyers and are threatening to pursue further legal actions if he is not rehomed. In the home, he is the most lovable dog you could imagine. We have 4 children 6 and under that he has not so much as nipped at. He is incredibly protective over them and will notify us if one is outside without an adult. If he is out with them, he just follows them around making sure they are safe. His biggest issues are that he loves to steal food and if he gets out (only happens when his father, our other dog, does) he will go attack this neighbor's dog. He is utd on shots, neutered, and has a clean bill of health from our vet. He is skittish in new environments, so we are very concerned about sending him to a shelter, but have struggled to find another rescue or foster situation for him with his 'aggression' history. If you have space for him and are willing to take a chance, please let me know. We are desperate to find a good fit for him.
