About Jaxon

Catahoula / Belgian Malinois
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Jaxon is a loving, playful, and goofy dog who deserves a home where he can get the time and attention he truly thrives on. With a one-year-old at home and twins on the way, we've had to make the heartbreaking decision to find him a family who can meet his needs better than we currently can. Jaxon has a great balance of energy-he loves to run in open fields, play, and explore, but he's just as happy being lazy and snuggling up with his people. He isn't a fan of fetch, but he's very smart and knows several commands, including sit, lay down, laying flat on his side, stay, and come. He is leash trained and, while he can be a little excitable at the start of walks, he settles quickly and walks very well-especially when he's getting regular exercise. He does get bored easily, and when under-stimulated he may chew up dog toys or his bed, but he has never chewed furniture or household items. He can jump a 6-foot fence if he hasn't had enough activity, though when he's played with and exercised, this is not an issue. If he does get out, he typically takes himself for a run and comes right back home. Jaxon is good with our son and has never shown any biting or nipping behavior, though he hasn't been around many children. With other dogs, he loves to play but can be a bit rough, so not every dog enjoys his play style. He would do best with a dog who matches his energy or as an only dog with plenty of interaction. This decision comes from love and wanting the very best for Jaxon. He would thrive in an active home that can give him regular exercise, engagement, and affection. He has so much love and personality to give, and we truly believe he'll make an amazing companion for the right family.
