Courtesy Posting: HAYWARD, CA (N CAL nr Oakland/San Francisco)- BEAUTIFUL, 40 lb FEMALE CHOW 'LUNA' WHO DOES WELL W CATS SHE HAS LIVED WITH, FRIENDLY WITH DOGS SHE HAS MET- NEEDS A NEW HOME DUE TO OWNER'S CIRCUMSTANCES Please no negative comments as the focus has to be on finding placement, and we are Not the owner. Please help us find a loving, home (ideally chow savvy) for this dear petite girl Luna who is now approximately 6 years young. She is up to date on shots, healthy, still quite active and playful, but has a calmer demeanor. We were contacted to assist with Luna's placement after her owner suffered an injury and is unable to walk her, and has no yard to access. Luna was adopted as a newborn where she lived with a cat her first three years, and was then taken in by a family member when the first home could not keep her. She has now lived with her current owner for approximately 2.5 years and also children ages 7 and 16, as well as a new cat she does very well with, and we have videos of. Her current owner says, 'Luna is a very loyal dog. She's great around kids and strangers. She never barks like other dogs or growls. She's good with every dog at the dog park. She is potty trained and only pees and poops outside on walks.' The owner further added Luna has no medical issues she is aware of, and no reported bites. Luna does need to be spayed and we are looking into affordable options or some sponsorship for this. If you are breed savvy or knowledgeable and are interested in meeting and adopting Luna, please contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to assist with his placement. If you have other pets, a meet and greet with them is highly recommended. All adopters will be asked for a home check (which may be virtual), an application, a vet reference, proof of any prior pets or chows, and a signed adoption contract agreeing to spay her. Please note adoptions typically need to be done in person. However, a further away home who can arrange their own transport may be considered if the home is qualified and risk free.
