About Twinkle

American Staffordshire Terrier mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Twinkle is the kind of dog that can make anyone smile! She's friendly, playful, and fun-loving, and prone to the zoomies. She already knows how to play fetch, and it's one of her favorite things to do. She also already knows how to sit on command. She's done great with other dogs in playgroup, and is usually the ringleader to start all the playing. She loves to play, and would do great in a home with other dogs for her to play with. Twinkle has a bit of a long story - she's been with us before. She was first found in December 2020 and quickly adopted. Unfortunately, she was returned a week later because felt they didn't have enough space for her. Twinkle proudly found love and was adopted again in January of 2021. She went on a little adventure and was found as a stray again in November of 2021, but was happily returned to her adopter the very same day. Unfortunately, Twinkle was found as a stray again on 1/22/26, with an injured front right leg. We contacted her adopter who said she'd rehomed her over a year ago, and she couldn't remember any of the info for the lady she rehomed her to. Our on staff medical team diagnosed her as having a Chronic Carpal Injury. This is a chronic condition where she's lost significant muscle mass in shoulder due to an injury to her right front wrist. Her wrist has healed bent, and she can't straighten it. This forces her to walk abnormally, so her shoulder has atrophied from lack of use. Twinkle's limb ended up needing to be amputated, but she's been recovering well ever since!
