Meet Samson - proof that the very best dogs don't come with a pedigree, they come with a heart...Samson is a neutered 62 lb dog and is approx 4 yrs old with many more years ahead of him. Unsure of his breed, he most resembles a mix of a shepherd, kelpie, malinois...I always say 'rescue' is my favorite breed of all. He is the kind of dog that quietly checks every box without asking for anything in return. Sweet, gentle, playful, and endlessly loving, Samson adores people and is wonderfully social with dogs of all sizes. He plays beautifully, reads the room well, and is happiest simply being near his humans. Samson is housebroken, doesn't bark much, walks beautifully on leash, and is very obedient. He's eager to please, easy-going, and content wherever you are - whether that's a walk around the neighborhood or relaxing at home. Truly, we struggle to think of a single bad habit. He's just�'�| good. He has been great with the children he's met so far, though since he hasn't lived long-term with kids, a home with teenagers and up would likely be best. As for cats, we don't know - and in Samson's case, better safe than sorry. What makes Samson's story especially heartbreaking - and beautiful - is how clearly he was loved. He was found abandoned, tied to a gate, with a note listing all of his vaccines, heartworm status, and even his food. His owner had lost her home and job and made the devastating decision to let him go in the only way she could. Samson didn't lose his ability to trust or love - he carried it with him. For the past 7 months, the kind people who found him have cared for him and loved him, and now they want nothing more than to see him in the forever home he so deeply deserves. Samson may be a mixed breed, but please don't let that be the reason you scroll past him. He is everything people hope for when they say they want 'a great dog.' Loyal. Loving. Well-mannered. Social. Gentle. Ready. Samson doesn't need to be rescued - he needs to be chosen. If you're looking for a dog who already knows how to love and is just waiting for someone to love him back, Samson is waiting for you. ��%90%BE��ժ My biggest addiction is empathy, and it's very hard for me to turn my back on a dog. I've been trying to curtail rescuing, because I was diagnosed with cancer 5 years ago. I actually had surgery September 4th, 2024, and was in the hospital for 2 months due to complications and infections and again recently 2 days before this past Thanksgiving. When they came to me for help to find Samson the home that he needs, I just couldn't say no, as I know Im really good at matching appropriately, and it was important to me that he was carefully and properly placed. My goal is to make sure Samson finds a final forever loving home. If you are in a home, please privacy fences only...no chainlink/see through fences. My goal is to make sure I get Samson the home that he needs and deserves with someone who will love him and give him all the care and attention and affection that he deserves for the rest of his life and be able to be committed to him physically, mentally, emotionally and financially. The best thing I could possibly do for Samson now is to find him a forever loving home where he will be happy ..'Till death do you part'. . I have made the commitment to Samson to make sure I find him the opportunity to find the right home he needs and deserves. My promise to him now is to make sure I find him the best forever home with one who will love him for the rest of his life ....an individual or family who will continue to let us know how wonderfully he is doing. Samson is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, heartworm tested, heartworm negative, on heartworm & flea/tick prevention, microchipped (and microchip remains in my name indefinitely for his safety...more than happy to explain) & if u adopt him, you MUST keep him on both & up to date with yearly check ups & vaccines.
