This one-two year old male red/black German Shepherd was found as a stray on Christmas day. No one claimed him as missing or lost. So he had been abandoned. He definitely knows human contact. He is being socialized to different people, and seems to love interacting with them in a family room setting. He walks okay on a leash/flexible collar. He does seem to warm up to men quicker than women. He seems uncomfortable with gloves. When in his kennel, he is shy/avoidant. He ignores most cats. He seems to already know what a cat is, and not be interested. He loves getting treats and has been taking treats very gently. While observed as a stray on and before Christmas day, he was seen eating trash/garbage. His arrival weight was 56.6 lbs. He is eating well, and loves food. He is on health/digestion related supplements with his food (due to the history of being stray and eating trash/garbage at that time). He is gaining weight and eating well. Due to being picked up as a stray, no information about his human/children/other dog compatibility is available. He has already been seen by a veterinarian and is neutered, de-wormed, and up to date on all vaccines. He has a negative Heartworm test result print out- that will be provided. He is on Heartguard Monthly prevention chews, which continues monthly. He has been eating Victor Professional kibble.
