BDRA is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) charity that accepts no fees when helping individuals or other rescues. 100% of donations go directly to the care of the animals. If you'd like to help us continue our mission, please donate at: https://www.blinddogrescue.org/donate-1. Name: Maggie Age: 5+ Breed: German Shepherd, 65 pounds Sex: Female (not spayed) Location: Raleigh County, West Virginia A Good Samaritan rescued Maggie at the end of January during a snowstorm. She was malnourished and partially blind and needed safety. Vet Info: Maggie is not up to date on her vaccinations, nor does she have a current heartworm test. She is not spayed. Maggie appears to be partially blind. Dog Info: Maggie is NOT dog or cat friendly. Owner relinquished ownership to GS. Maggie was chained outside and neglected. Maggie has been with GS for less that two weeks and is an indoor dog who is crated. Maggie is housebroken but not leash trained. She is nervous and shy. She has done well with the female GS and is a little more reserved with the male GS but she is not snappy or aggressive with him. Maggie has done wonderfully with the 8yo child but she is easily spooked by the 3 & 4 yo children who are a little too 'wild' for her. Maggie is possessive with food. She has attacked one cat and snaps at their dog every time he goes near her. **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
