About Monty & LooLoo

Adoption Fee: $100
Poodle
Age: Adult

[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] We would love to rehome these two together. They are half siblings, born a week apart, same dad, different moms. They are very bonded to each other, but they LOVE their people. Looloo is a lover and very focused on her humans, and tested at a service-dog level. She has a sweet, wanting-to-please dispostion. She will snuggle 24/7. Looloo's best trick is giving high fives. Monty is a dog's dog and more of a protector with un-introduced humans. He's fine at dog parks and on walks, but he does protect the home. While he loves his humans and snuggling, he is more inclined to frolic with other dogs and exploring. They both can do tricks, but Monty's best trick is dancing. Their energy is average. They sleep most of the day and live for their daily long walk. We have a large backyard, so they are out frequently and run around playing with each other. If they see something to chase they can turn into jet engines, but otherwise, they are pretty calm. Monty and LooLoo sleep inside at night typically on dog beds or one of the couches. We have have a cats - they like to sniff and follow the cats around, but they don't hurt them. It's hard to describe the ideal home since we haven't seen them in ALL situations. They really are simple as far as dogs go. They are socialized with people and other dogs and Looloo although Monty needs to be introduced first. They might need to be reminded to be nice to new cats or other pets. I think they'd do best in a home with ample stimulation. They like people, enjoy company and thrive on human interaction. They'd be in utter love if they got a couple walks a day. However, I would not recommend Monty be around young children (under 8). He wouln't handle the strange random abuse well. That said, he slept in my son's bedroom for years until my son decided he didn't want that any more. Also, one issue we have with them is barking. They will feed off each other and can drive each other into a howling frenzy. If outside, we worry this will annoy the neighbors, so we stop it. If inside, it disrupts my husband's work. We happen to live on a busy neighborhood street and have people walking by with dogs ALL day! If you don't have that situation, they barking will be much less. To be honest, we have also tried about every option on the planet to control the barking from collars to high frequency noise to lights. Both dogs had behavior training when they were 1 or 2. (We got them as puppies.)
