About LUCY

Adoption Fee: $350
Chihuahua mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

LUCY is a 7 year old, 14 pound Chihuahua mix surrendered to us because her owner had a stroke and is no longer able to care for her. She rescued Lucy from a bad situation several years ago and we promised her that we would find Lucy a wonderful family. LUCY can be shy at first meet but it doesn't take her long to warm up. She is a friendly, happy girl who enjoys being near her person. She greets her person happily with lots of tail wags and kisses and enjoys snuggling next to her person. She doesn't mind spending some time alone and will welcome you home every time like you are the best thing that's ever happened to her. With dogs, Lucy can be a little more reserved. She would be perfectly happy as an only dog or in a home with another calm little dog that won't be in her face or trying to get her to play. She will calmly coexist with a dog that has a similar temperament. She has briefly been around older children but would probably be happiest in a home without kids unless they are older and familiar with small dogs. We do not know how she would be with cats. LUCY LOVES being outside. Walks make her especially excited. Bring out the leash or say the word 'outside' and she'll jump for joy, literally! She walks beautifully on the leash and harness, and snuffles like a little pig when she sniffs the ground. She'll happily walk a good distance with you by her side. She is housebroken and does well on a routine. LUCY may spend her first night sleeping in a dog bed under the bed but by night two, she'll be ready to jump up and snuggle with you. LUCY is spayed, up to date on shots, had a dental, is heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review.
