About Mossy

Mossy is 115lbs, 1.5-year-old Cane Corso mix. He is affectionate, smart, goofy, protective in a healthy way, and deeply loyal. Unfortunately, I'm a first responder, and my life and schedule have changed drastically. As much as this breaks my heart, I'm no longer able to give Mossy the time, consistency, and attention he deserves. This decision is about wanting him to have a safe, happy, stable life with someone who has the capacity to give him what he needs every day. I truly believe Mossy will bond deeply with whoever adopts him. He forms strong connections and thrives when he's with someone who matches his energy and enjoys being active with him. Mossy is: - Only barks to alert (rare) - will whine occasionally to let you know he needs something - House-trained and crate-trained - Knows sit, stay, lay down, and paw - Extremely treat/ball driven - Still working on leash pulling - Does ok with other dogs, needs to learn manners (excited) - Well-socialized, but young and excitable-may jump when greeting - Loves playing ball and expects daily fetch time - Loves playing in the snow - Sleeps in the bed, loves to cuddle/being close I could see him being a great farm hand, 'scary face, kind heart' for the single hikers or family protector. He's happy to relax and cuddle after exercise He has a high prey drive, so homes with birds or loose small animals would not be a good fit. The Home I'm Hoping For: All I want for Mossy is a safe, peaceful, loving home where he can truly thrive. Ideally: - A fenced yard, acreage, or plenty of space Or someone with a very active lifestyle - Someone who works less or has the bandwidth to invest in him - Someone patient, consistent, and committed to continuing his training Families with children are welcome, as long as the children are 12 or older, due to his size and energy level. Mossy will come with his Steel crate, toys, treats, harness, food/food container, brushes and bowls. He is microchipped. He does best when he gets regular exercise, structure, and quality time. Mossy will want daily ball/chew toy time. After he wants nothing more than to cuddle up and watch TV together. He has shots but is due for his year old shots as of last week. I'd love to rehome him to someone willing to let me visit or even just send photos. I'm 24, in school and he's the first dog I've ever owned. But with my career/school- He needs more time Thank you .
