About Tucker

This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only. Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. I have a 13 year old male Shiba Inu named Tucker that I can no longer keep in our house due to his behavior. I have an 8 week old baby and an almost 2 year old now and they are not safe to be around him due to his growling and barking at them. He is fine around adults and older kids, does not get along with other animals. I've had Tucker since March of 2013, he was my first dog and my first baby, but in the past few years his behavior has changed and after multiple trips to the vet to check for health problems and trying medication to calm him down nothing is working. I have been struggling for months on what to do about him but I can no longer put my kids at risk. I've discussed my options with the vet after another medication change and they mentioned behavioral euthanasia but I just cannot make that decision. I do love him and he is old, I just want him to live out the years he has left somewhere he can be happy and taken care.
