Meet Scoots Von Kissyface %90%BE Age: ~6 years | Weight: 20 lbs | Breed: French Bulldog (with a PhD in perseverance) Scoots Von Kissyface has one of those stories that makes you laugh, cry, and then laugh again through the tears. Scoots came to us from the shelter as a stray-and it was clear he'd been surviving on the streets for a long time. He was starving. His nose was crusted, his feet were bloody, his body had open wounds, and he had painful fly strikes. Heartbreaking'| but sadly not uncommon for a street dog. What was shocking? Scoots was also completely paralyzed in his back end. This sweet little Frenchie had been dragging himself around to survive. He was incontinent. His back legs didn't move at all. And yet-despite everything-he was still gentle, loving, and eager to give kisses to anyone who would look his way. We've cared for paraplegic Frenchies before, so we knew that even if Scoots never walked again, we could give him a joyful, full life. We named him Scoots Von Kissyface because of his signature scoot and his ridiculously kissable face-and off to the vet we went. The diagnosis? Likely IVDD. Stable, but permanent. He'd never walk on all fours again. Or'| so we thought. Apparently Scoots had other plans. With spine and disc support, muscle therapy for his atrophied legs, proper nutrition, treatment for skin allergies, and a whole lot of love, Scoots started getting stronger. Then one day, while we stepped into the other room to grab a pee pad, Scoots decided to casually stand up'| and try to follow us. Excuse us? Sir?? That moment was the beginning of something incredible. Thanks to a generous donor, Scoots received an Assisi Loop (which will go home with his adopter), and with time and consistency, Scoots didn't just start walking-he started walking often. He gained control of his bladder and bowels. And then came the final plot twist: Scoots runs. Yes. Runs. Is it a little wobbly? Absolutely. Does he sometimes look like a tiny, tipsy old man leaving happy hour? Without question. Is he DOING IT anyway? 100%. Scoots is an exceedingly happy boy. He loves people, adores giving kisses, and is wonderful with dogs, cats, and kids. He enjoys short walks, stroller rides, and quality time with his humans. He's silly, affectionate, and has the kind of joyful spirit that makes you believe in miracles again. That said-Scoots does need a special adopter. While he's doing amazingly well, it's possible his condition could worsen someday, and he may return to scooting or using a wheelchair. His current care is straightforward and not expensive, but future needs could change. What Scoots needs most is someone who will love him no matter what-wobbles, wheels, or all. If you can look past his uneven gait and see the brave, hilarious, endlessly loving little soul underneath'| Scoots Von Kissyface will give you the kind of love that changes you forever. Because this boy didn't just learn how to walk again- He taught all of us how to keep going. ժ%90%BE
