About Bubba

Adoption Fee: $100
Pit Bull
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Bubba is 8-9 years old and a total love bug. He is definitely part baby seal. He is a SOUL dog and the bond you'll form with him is absolutely amazing. Reason for re-home: I have owned bubba for 5 years. I have 3 toddlers and my other dog keeps going after him. We have tried professional training. Bubba tries to get away and does not want to fight back. Bubba -age: 8-9 years old -breed: 100% American pitbull terrier (we got him DNA tested). Also, half baby seal. %BD%BD|%BD energy level: low / calm in the house. updated on all vaccines, neutered, gets blood tested yearly (currently healthy). Last tested a few months ago. Would pay for new owners for yearly vet appt if needed (shots, bloodwork). Quirks: Has some anxiety being left alone. Loves a companion (dog or human) to lay next to or on top of to calm him. Because of this, the first month or so he should probably be in a crate when being left. He will bark in the crate and then settle eventually. I would love to place him in a home with another dog. We have a $1000 impact crate that would go with him. We don't use it anymore for him but in a new home it would be smart to use. If he's left alone in a room isolated by himself, I think he might start chewing on things he's not supposed to again. He hasn't done this in a long time but he might in a new home. Walks : gets incredibly excited when he sees the leash. Will pull for the first 20 seconds out the door and then does great. - does great walking past other dogs. Does great walking with Stella. Toys with other dogs: Stella has always stolen his toys from him and he lets her %BD%BD I think because he's scared it could start something. We haven't done toys in a while because of this. Does not destroy stuffies as far as we know but hasn't had any in a while. Dog parks: I don't trust other dogs so I wouldn't recommend for pits. We have put him in a dog pack with our trainer and did pretty well being thrown in the pack (we have videos). Stella is very dominant over him so he can live in a home with a dominant dog. We introduced them over a 3-4 week period & did it slowly because of his condition he came in + Stella being dominant. We've had bubba for 5 years. Since Stella is not dog friendly with random dogs, bubba doesn't socialize with random dogs. When introducing to your pack: use 3/3/3 rule. I can send you the chart for dog introduction if you haven't seen that rule. Cat friendly: I think he might be cat friendly with a slow intro. I'll have to find a video a few years back and see how he reacted to our foster cats. I'm not 100% sure. Will definitely bark at them through windows. Kids: newborn babies = great / doesn't mind them Toddlers: nervous/flight mode. He isn't comfortable being around them so we never pushed him to see what would happen. Kids 6-7+ he could live with. Just as long as a child is respectful to him, he should do well. Does not jump. Gives kisses very sparingly %BD%BD puts whole weight on your chest and wants to snuggle 24/7. Loves going underneath a blanket. Does well in car. Eats every meal well. Has the occasional zoom!
