Courtesy Posting: URGENT AT SANTA FE, NM (NR ALBUQUERQUE) - ID #A173800 'DELILAH' (BLACK FEMALE) AT SANTA FE HUMANE after owner sadly passed- ADOPTABLE and STUNNING FEMALE PUREBRED CHOW - NEEDS LOVING FOREVER HOME OR FOSTER AND RESCUE- DOG FRIENDLY, MAY BE OKAY WITH CATS. Some transport may be considered for suitable and qualified homes. Please help us find a responsible and forever home or a foster and rescue, ideally who is chow savvy. Delilah, along with Dante, both said to be approximately 6 years old, was brought to the shelter after their owner who loved them dearly passed away, and extended family was unable to care for or take them in. Although the pair came in rather shy, the shelter let us know, 'They're turning out to be sweet and curious.' The also said. 'We have videos of the Chows interacting with Don Chuy, walking briefly through the cat kennels, interacting with Trevor, interacting with Santa and friends, and finally passing by the PC kennels. I think they did a superb job with all new situations.' Although originally believed to be bonded and do get along, they did have a fight after being kenneled together for some time, so the shelter is now recommending they go to separate homes, ideally. We have many of these videos and pictures of them posted on facebook, as well as some can be found on this link: https://photos.app.goo.gl/1GcU9gdN6gGqyS3m7 Delilah is described as 'This beautiful lady is 6 years old and currently weighs a little over 60lbs. We recently did an interview with her and she tells us that she is ready to leave the shelter and settle into the home of her dreams (aka your house!). Dante is described as '6 years old. I currently weigh about 70 lbs. Deliah and Dante`s adoption fee are each $100. They are spayed or neutered and microchipped and have age-appropriate vaccinations. A licensing fee may apply. Both dogs do have some arthritis and now on gabapentin and can be seen in video moving about fairly well. Delilah also previously had entropion surgery.
