Moose is a happy-go-lucky guy who's never met a stranger. He LOVES visitors and all people, and is unphased by small children. He is on the foster puppy welcome committee at his house and is extremely patient and tolerant of younger dogs' shenanigans. Moose likes to sleep in, and doesn't get out of bed until his person does. He loves being toasty warm and likes to burrow under the covers in winter (will also come with 2 sets of jammies). Very food & treat motivated. He gets extremely excited for meal & treat time and will spin in circles to show you :) Crate trained & walks well on a leash with some gentle reinforcement. Moose gets monthly mani/pedis at the vet (with anxiety meds onboard) because he doesn't cooperate with at-home nail trims. A good walk before his vet appointments also helps tire him out for good behavior at the vet. All of the vet techs adore him and report he's a very good boy. Moose is good with indoor cats (after a controlled introduction) and lives with 2 cats currently, but is NOT safe with outdoor cats (or squirrels), as he sees them as prey. He is great with other dogs after a controlled introduction (i.e. walking around the block together before being able to meet/sniff) and does not have a dominant personality or any guarding issues. Moose LOVES and NEEDS his walks. Due to health issues + ongoing home repair projects, his current owners are no longer able to walk him as often as he needs, and as a result, Moose has taken to escaping from their not-securely-fenced backyard to take himself on neighborhood adventures. Moose would do best in a home where he will get consistent daily walks for both the exercise and the mental stimulation. A tired dog is a good dog! Moose is the best boy and is ready to be your best friend!
