About Nigel

(DOB 01/09/2025) Nigel is looking for love and an active home that gives him plenty of opportunities to burn off energy and use his brain. A secure, fenced-in yard would be ideal for running and playing, though it's not a deal breaker for the right family who has time for daily walks, play sessions, and adventures together. Nigel is a truly wonderful little guy; he's smart, playful, and overflowing with love. He has a sweet, gentle temperament and a happy spirit that shines through in everything he does. Nigel thrives on affection and attention and forms a close bond with his people, often preferring to be right near you (but not necessarily on top of you). He's a Velcro-style companion who loves kisses, snuggles, and simply being part of whatever you're doing. This handsome boy is incredibly intelligent. You might fool him once or twice, but not for long! He's well behaved, and only chews on his toys (especially squeakers, stuffies, and chew toys, which he happily shares). Nigel is playful and energetic, enjoying games of fetch, walks or runs with his family, playing with other dogs, chasing his tail, and goofing off throughout the day. He's a road trip fanatic and would be thrilled to tag along on outings and adventures whenever possible. Nigel is doing well with leash walking and improving every day, though he can still pull a bit, so continued daily practice will help him shine. Nigel is Door-dasher, and we don't mean the kind that delivers food. His family will need to be mindful and have safety precautions in place. He's working on his house training and goes outside about every two hours until bedtime, so he'll need a home where someone can continue that schedule. Speaking of bedtime, he is happiest sleeping under his foster's bed at night. (Note: he is crate trained just not a fan of it.) Stairs are still new to him; he's learning and gaining confidence, literally, one step at a time. Nigel is so cute and has a soft, silky coat that is silver-ish/grey. It sparkles in the sunlight. He often lays with his legs straight out behind him in the famous 'frog position', and it's just super cute. With his short haircut, you can already see how beautiful he is, and when his coat grows out, it becomes curly and will require daily brushing and professional grooming to prevent knots and matting. He's a little shy around new people, and with patience, kindness, and a few gentle moments, he warms up nicely. He hasn't met children yet, but a home with older, calm, respectful kids should be just fine. He could be an only dog or happily live with other fun-loving, gentle pups, and he'd likely adore a playful canine buddy to be his best friend. Nigel has the best snuggly side and knows how to settle in and enjoy quiet time with his people and pups and is looking for a loving and happy home to call his own! As part of Nigel's $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
