Coal is a 2.5 yo neutered male. He's crate and house trained to not potty inside, still needs work to not chew furniture if bored. He needs an experienced owner. He was a rescue who was found under a highway overpass. He has food aggression and territorial challenges. He's not thriving in my home because he's working line and is anxious and acting out without work to do. He learns very quickly compared to any other dog I've owned. He only takes a rep or two to know a new command. He's got a place command and all the standard sit stay etc. He has started learning herding commands under my totally inexperienced instruction. He completed a board and train that got him to accept a muzzle and corrective tools like an e collar so if you need to train with those he can do it now. He would be best as the only dog in the house because of territorial behavior. However, he does enjoy playing with my other dog outside and met new dogs at the dog park. All people in the house should be comfortable with high drive dogs with low frustration threshold. My home is not experienced and we've been injured with scratches by a forward lunge he does when frustrated or territorial. He has also put his mouth on us when upset or playing, but it's a heeler nip with no marks left. The trainer had him for 5 weeks without any injuries because of her experience and awareness with working line dogs. If he can have a home that understands him better than I do, he'll be happier and safe.
