We are currently fostering a 4-year-old 83lb Alaskan Husky/Malamute. We accepted her into our household as her prior owners were losing their home and could no longer take care of her. She is fixed, house broken, and leash and crate trained. Luna is a wonderful dog with people, and is a dream on walks - she is not reactive to other dogs, people or kids. She is very affectionate and cuddly with humans, but we have noticed she is aloof at dog parks, and the biggest issue is that she is not getting along well with our two dogs, who are more senior. They got too close to her crate, and my husband got between them and got nipped (not really bitten) so we are concerned for the safety of our other two dogs, a spaniel and a terrier. We would love to see her go to a home with someone who is familiar with Huskies/Mals and understands their behavior and needs. She is such a good girl, and has been sleeping while we work from home, so we really want to make sure she gets a lovely new home where she can thrive.
