About DD

Siberian Husky
Age: Senior
Sex: Male

DD is a straight up love bug - he is an energetic, sweet, opinionated boy. We are looking to re-home him because we recently had our first child and are struggling to give him the care, attention, and exercise that he deserves. His positive traits are that he is exceptionally good with children of all ages, he is just happy to be part of the family and included in whatever we're doing, he is very smart, and is professionally behavior trained. He is a great companion on walks and hikes, happy in the car, crate-trained, and loves most other dogs and all humans. His negative traits are that he is incredibly food-driven and often begs for human food, he will pull his leash on walks without regular reinforcement, he is not too well socialized so sometimes can overwhelm other dogs with his desire to be friends, and like most huskies, he sheds like it's his full-time job. Not a positive or negative but a fact: DD was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in late 2025 - he takes one pill every 12 hours (happily, in a treat or with peanut butter) and will likely do so for the rest of his life. The pills cost roughly $30 per month.
