About Toby

Adoption Fee: $250.00
Bulldog
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Toby is a handsome 3-year-old English Bulldog who arrived at the shelter when his previous owner could no longer manage his needs in an apartment with stairs. He has had quite an adventure in foster care, including a successful recovery from kidney stones through a specific diet and medication. Toby also has Brachycephalic Airway Syndrome, a common condition for his breed. He is scheduled for surgery to widen his nostrils and improve his breathing. Additionally, he has arthritis in his hind legs, which is currently well-managed with joint supplements and moderated activity. Toby is mostly potty trained, though he may have occasional accidents if he cannot get outside in time. He is kennel trained, but in true Bulldog fashion, he can be a bit 'sassy' when he wants attention. He is a treat-motivated boy who loves to cuddle. When excited, he may engage in light 'mouthing' or 'love bites.' Toby gets along well with both large and small dogs and is curious about cats, though his loud breathing can sometimes overwhelm them. He enjoys being around respectful children, though he may jump up for pets or mouth slightly when excited. If you're interested in meeting Toby, come to our adoption event on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 11 am - 2 pm, located at 6300 San Mateo NE in the south Sprouts parking lot. Alternatively, we can arrange a Private Meet-and-Greet with the foster parent and your household once an application is completed.
