Khaleesi's story matters - and what happened to her is NOT okay. Khaleesi was surrendered by her owner to For Pet's Sake Veterinary in Glens Falls, NY. Before bringing her there, the owner reached out to the SPCA and was advised to euthanize her instead of being offered help or resources. That is not okay. Khaleesi is an all-black, 5-year-old female German Shepherd who is severely underweight, yet incredibly sweet. She adores people and loves children. She is not food aggressive and happily allowed herself to be hand-fed by the veterinary staff. She has not been properly socialized with other dogs or cats and will bark and chase. Because of this, an experienced home is an absolute MUST - one that understands decompression, structure, and committed training. This is not optional. A dog-free home is best at this time. With time, patience, and proper work, she may be able to integrate - but first she must decompress and feel safe. This dog is alive. She is aware. And she does not belong in a crate as her future.
