Last spring, my husband heard about a male intact Rottweiler needing a home. The 2-year old dog, Louie, lived with other dogs on a farm, and the dogs got out and a neighbor's goat was killed. They wanted to quickly move Louie out of the situation and said he had never had aggressive tendencies but they were now unable to keep him. My husband took Louie home, and we began to slowly introduce him to our male American Bully and our home. My husband ended up having a heart attack last summer. Louie began fighting with our other dog. He has never been aggressive to people, he is friendly, healthy, very active and energetic. But we have to keep him isolated from our other dog, and my husband is now battling advanced heart failure and cannot care for him. I am unable to care for Louie separately from my other dog. Louie desperately needs a home where he can be cared for by someone experienced with large dogs and where he can be an only dog. We know little about his history, but we know he is under 3 years old and at his 3rd home. He cannot be around other dogs unless/until someone can safely train/introduce him. He does not bother the outdoor cats and has never been aggressive to people, though we have never had young kids around. He is very active and energetic and is getting very pent up being separated/alone in a kennel. I exercise him as best I can every day, but my husband's health and our home situation prevent him from getting the life he deserves.
