About Molly

Domestic Cat
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Meet Molly, the momma of our Harry Potter litter. This fall, we received a call from animal control asking if we could take in a male cat that was brought to them as a stray and not claimed. Of course, we said yes, and we welcomed 'him' into our foster program, although we very quickly discovered that 'he' was actually a she and was very pregnant! Not long afterward, our Harry Potter litter was born. After Molly had her babies, she was solely concentrated on the kittens and their needs. She was a wonderful mother. They were a very happy little family and they did everything together. Now the kittens are adopted we see the true nature of this wonderful cat coming out. Molly is very motherly and sleeps with a little stuffed animal in her basket. She loves to play and goof around. She asks for quite a bit of interaction and likes to be around her people. Molly is very respectful, funny, and follows you around when she 'needs' something (like food). When her foster family watches TV, she will sit on their laps and loves getting attention and hugs. She sleeps on the bed at night. Molly's favourite past-time is to sit on the window-sill to watch what is going on outside. Molly would love a home with a catio or a big window with a bird feeder outside so that she can watch wildlife and get some fresh air. Although Molly is currently the only cat in her foster home, she misses having her babies around and will do best in a home with another cat. She enjoys running around and playing and might do well with another young kitty who enjoys wrestling and pouncing. She would also do well with a calm kitty that will want to cuddle with her, as long as they're Ok to play with Molly as well. Another young adult or kitten would be a good fit for Molly. It's estimated that she is about 2 years old. Overall, Molly is a healthy kitty, but she does have some gingivitis that we are treating with water additives and a dental diet. The gingivitis in a young cat is likely due to growing up in unhygienic and poor conditions without adequate nutrition. Molly's new family will need to be considerate of her dental needs through her life and will ideally keep with up with routine dental care. She's not interested in having her teeth brushed, so dental treats and a dental diet help to keep her mouth healthy.
