Meet Penny! This lovely girl was found roaming a local street on January 9th, 2026. Penny is an estimated 3-year-old Lab mix who weighs 46 pounds. Penny is a very well-mannered dog with a sweet and gentle temperament. She enjoys following her foster around the house and is neither hyper nor destructive. She is affectionate and seeks attention from all the humans she meets, having done wonderfully with women, men, and children. She takes treats gently and already knows the command 'sit.' She has a charming habit of sitting on feet when she feels unsure, and her vet visit confirmed her polite nature-she was described as 'an angel' and even cooperates beautifully for baths. Her energy level is low to moderate, and she is not a vocal dog. She is calm and relaxed indoors and enjoys walks, displaying excellent leash etiquette with minimal pulling and no reactivity toward other dogs or people. She is very social with other dogs and was eager to befriend her foster's senior Chihuahuas. After a proper, slow introduction, she coexisted peacefully with them, respectfully giving them space and allowing them to set the boundaries. No resource guarding or reactivity has been observed. Penny is fully house-trained and will approach the door when she needs to go outside. She also tolerates her crate very well, remaining calm and quiet inside without any accidents.
