About Carlotta

Carlotta is a sweet little Jack Russell Chihuahua #JackChi mix that was picked up by Animal Control Officers on 1/11/26 after she was struck by a vehicle resulting in severe trauma to her head & spine. While Carlotta thankfully did not sustain any breaks or fractures, she did receive significant trauma to her spine requiring 'handle with care' while on cage rest to ensure she does not place too much strain on her spinal cord. Carlotta still needs continued care with an experienced adopter or animal rescue, unfortunately at the shelter she is attracting primarily interest from parties that are more interested in a 'small dog' during a $20 adoption promotion. This is causing concern she could be adopted by parties that lack appropriate knowledge to tend to her needs, or (worse) fail to provide her with the continued cage rest & medical care she requires.
