Tiggy Bella, Lexus, Twilight (unrelated bonded Big Sister, Little Brother, & Little Little Brother) Tiggy Bella (female): 1 year & 3-month-old spotted & striped tabby Lexus (male): 10-month-old orange striped tabby Twilight (male): 10-month-old medium hair tabby Location: Lynchburg, VA Adoption Fee: $80 each ($240 total) (includes spay/neuter, 2 FVRCP Vaccines, Rabies vaccine, dewomer treatment, flea treatment, and Earmite treatment for each cat) The Stories: Tiggy Bella had a rough start; but throughout it all, she never gave up, not on herself and not on her desire to love and be loved. As a tiny kitten, Tiggy Bella suffered an injury that cut off the blood supply to her tail. When she came to Bedford Cares her tail could not be saved, she was sick from infection, but most importantly she wanted to live and want love. Over several months Tiggy Bella received medical treatments, wound care, lots of good food, and lots and lots of love which healed her physical injuries and nurtured her naturally loving and accepting heart. When she was 7 months old Tiggy Bella was brought to a permanent foster along with a newly rescued Mama cat with her 5 two-week-old kittens, one of these kittens was Lexus. Lexus was living in an abandoned car with his Mama and 4 other brothers and sisters. Even though Lexus was the smallest of his siblings, he was a thriving kitten. However, Lexus was the smallest, he was a little calmer, and a little more laid back, and a little more snuggly than the rest of his siblings. Lexus preferred hugging, snuggling, and as many baths as he could get over rowdy wrestling matches. Because of this, Lexus frequently found himself being pushed, climbed over, fallen on, or smushed at bottom of the kitten pile. Then one afternoon, Tiggy Bella took matters into her own paws. She picked up 4-week-old Lexus in her mouth and carried him to her bed where she started licking and cuddling him. Lexus reveled in the calmer one-on-one attention, games, and pampering sessions Tiggy Bella gave him, and Tiggy Bella reveled in having a kitten, a friend, all her own who basked in receiving all the love she had to give and reciprocated with even more love. Three weeks later, Twilight came to the foster home with two other kittens who were rescued from a 'Free Kitten' post. Twilight was the same age as Lexus but only weighed 6 oz. compared to Lexus's weight of 1lb 9oz. Despite being severely malnourished and having infected eyes, Twilight, like Tiggy Bella, was a spunky little fighter. After just a few days of good food, antibiotics, and lots of love, Twilight started to gain weight and recover. A week later this little bot set a challenge for himself to master, climbing the basement stairs which caught the attention of Tiggy Bella and then of course Lexus (who did everything his Tiggy Bella did). Everyday Twilight practiced climbing one stair at a time over and over again and Tiggy Bella and Lexus would sit one the other side of the door listening as if silently encouraging this tiny little life that he can do it and we'll be waiting here for you when you do. When Twilight made it to the top of the stairs he stuck his tiny paw under the door like he was saying, 'I'm here,' 'Are you still there?' Of course, Tiggy Bella and Lexus were there, we opened the door and few sniffs and licks later the duo of Tiggy Bella and Lexus became forever a Trio. Tiggy Bella, Lexus, and Twilight are truly a family, they play together (They love a good wood pile regardless of whether its indoors or outdoors). They watch out the windows, watch Lexus catch bug while trying to help, and bask in the warm sun. Lexus and Twilight stay close by but give Tiggy Bella her space when she is grumpy because her tail stump is bothering her. And Lexus has even gotten into wrestling (Tiggy Bella and Twilight are always happy to be an opponent). They are just wonderful!!!! I've never made a trio bonded kitty post before, because I know how difficult it is to get a bonded pair adopted. Usually, I post Tiggy Bella and Lexus as a bonded pair and pray that since Twilight is so nurturing of the other foster kittens she'll be fine in a home as long as she has another kitty to bond to. But 3 months turned into 4, which turned into 6 and 8 and now 10 with no adopter and their bond has only grown stronger and stronger. I know it's a lot to ask, but if there is anyone out there who understands the harness of the world, the healing power of Love, and the bonding strength that comes from 'Chosen Family,' would you consider opening your heart and your home to this trio? I know Tiggy Bella, Lexus, and Twilight would share all their love with you. 'We don't need to be related to relate We don't need to share genes or a surname You are, you are My chosen, chosen family So what if we don't look the same? We been going through the same thing Yeah, you are, you are My chosen, chosen family' (Rina Sawayama, Danny L Harle, Jonny Lattimer)
